Gynaecology Plus - Overview

Gynaecology Plus contains both an extensive surgical audit feature and a complete colposcopy management tool. The surgical audit feature is used by RANZCOG in Australia and New Zealand. Surgical audit of all major procedures is provided including d&c +/- hysteroscopy, hysterectomy, incontinence, laparoscopy, laparotomy, prolapse surgery and LSCS. Management of colposcopy provides full MOH reporting, automated letter writing, receipt of cytology/histology results, follow-up of missed appointments/treatments and so forth. Gynaecology Plus is developed in New Zealand to suit New Zealand conditions and gynaecological practice. It is also fully supported and maintained by the original developers of the product, Solutions Plus Limited.

Gynaecology Plus has been developed using the latest software development technologies (Access, VB.NET, SQL Server). In addition Solutions Plus has developed its own toolset to ensure that all future package developments and client modifications are professionally developed at minimum cost to the client.

Gynaecology Plus currently consists of two modules addressing colposcopy and general gynaecological surgical auditing. Additional modules including oncology and endometriosis are planned.

The colposcopy module of Gynaecology Plus has been developed with input from DHBs, MOH, NSU, leading gynaecologists and RANZCOG, with the desire to provide these organisations with the tools to manage and audit their practices, and to efficiently satisfy the colposcopy reporting requirements of the NCSP.

There is extensive integration with various office products such as Word and Excel where these products are best suited to a particular business process.

Gynaecology Plus has already been adopted by most New Zealand DHBs to satisfy the Ministry of Health colposcopy reporting requirements and a number of private practices are also using the system.

Sample Functionality

Colposcopy Visits This screen shows an example of a colposcopy visit. The key clinical information from the visit is recorded as well as subsequent actions such as letters and results. The schematic of the cervix enables the Colposcopist to indicate from where the biopsy was taken for future reference. A recent development project is enabling the storage and retrieval of colposcopic images with attached notes. The patient's follow up and future plan is entered to enable the control of future visits and to prevent patients from missing appropriate treatment and/or follow-ups. Patient's visit notes can be printed at any time including the schematic showing biopsy locations. Letters can be produced automatically to the referrers, with results of the colposcopy/biopsy from the visit included, with minimum intervention. This screen also has a summary of previous visits related to this episode.

NCSP Visit/Referral/DNA Reports Gynaecology Plus provides full reporting at the click of a button for the National Cervical Screening Program (NCSP). The example below shows the Visit, Referral and DNA reports which are automatically produced by Gynaecology Plus.

Image Capture Screen Gynaecology Plus contains our Colposcopy Image Capture Suite (CICS). This software integrates to Olympus, Ziess and Leisgang colposcopes. The user is able to compare images, add annotations and text in the form of overlays which can be shown or hidden .
