Use this solution if Microsoft Access security blocks
you from opening existing databases.
Overview
With Microsoft Access 2003, Microsoft has introduced
new security settings. As a result, when opening a database
you may be prompted with a warning regarding security
and then blocked from opening the database.
Two solutions are provided. Use the first solution
if you have a full installation of Microsoft Access.
Only use the second solution if you have a run-time
version of Microsoft Access 2003 or later. When using
the second method, double-click each to update your
system registry setting.
Full Version of Microsoft Access 2003 or later
Instructions
1. From the START menu, go to ALL PROGRAMS and then
Microsoft Access.
2. From the TOOLS main menu select MACRO and the choose
SECURITY.
3. Select MEDIUM or LOW and then click OK.
4. Re-start Microsoft Access.
For Runtime version of Microsoft Access 2003 or later
1. You could choose to download both winzip files
by clicking each download link (above) and save both
files to your hard disk. However, as the files they
contain are small, just choose to open rather than
save these exe files.
2. When you run the exe files, they save the files
- security.reg and sandbox.reg - by default to your
Desktop.
3 . Double-click security.reg and then sandbox.reg.
They will then edit the registry settings to reduce
security so the you are able to open Microsoft Access
applications that have VBA script.
