Minimum Requirements

These requirements are for the current generation of Solutions Plus systems based on a .Net / MS Access application and a SQL Server database. If you have a legacy system based on an MS Access application and MS Access database please contact your Solutions Plus account manager.

 

Minimum Hardware Requirements

These minimum hardware requirements are for a single PC architecture and for client PCs in Peer to Peer and Client / Server architectures. Sizing of the server in either a Peer to Peer or Client / Server architecture will be dependent on a number of factors including total and concurrent number of users etc.

Computer and processor: 500 megahertz(MHz) processor or higher
Memory: 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM or higher. 2 gigabyte (GB) RAM if Vista
Hard disk: 1.5 gigabyte(GB) minimum free on your C: drive
Drive: CD-ROM or DVD drive
Display: 1024x768 or higher resolution monitor

Minimum Software Requirements

These requirements should be read in conjunction with our installation instructions. There are additional software components that will be installed during this process. Please see our installation instructions for further clarification. These are available by contacting Solutions Plus directly.

If you require PDF printing of reports the you need to have a copy of the Bullzip PDF printer installed. This should be the approved version available from our website.
If you require Access 2007 installed as well as Access 2003. Access 2007 must be installed first and ideally in separate installation folders.
SQL Server Database

SQL Server Express 2005 SP3 + SQL Server Management Studio 2005 SP3 is sufficient for a single PC and small Peer to Peer Architectures SQL Server 2005 SP3 is required for a Client / Server architecture.
Windows Server 2003 for a Client / Server architecture or alternatively Microsoft Windows XP SP3 / Microsoft Windows Vista SP2 for a single PC and small Peer to Peer Architectures.
.NET Framework 3.5 SP1

Apple Mac

Our applications have been installed successfully on Apple Macs running either VMFusion or Parallels Desktop. However, we cannot warrant that full functionality will always be available as our software is not tested for compatibility in these environments.

Minimum Internet Requirements

All clients must establish a broadband internet connection on one or more of the PCs with access to both the application and the server (if separate).

Minimum Support Requirements

Clients who do not have their own in-house IT support facility must be able to install a copy of Remote Assist so that a Solutions Plus consultant can access their PC/laptop to install software or troubleshoot issues.
